Great course CC/SDH! I would definitely recommend it to every language enthusiast and movie fan!
Fantastic Teacher, Kelly O’Donovan! She is always there to your every question, every little inquiry, every task, every feedback, every e-mail. I haven’t seen such a committed teacher in a very long time. She explains things so well and with such patience and understanding, and without a doubt, you would enjoy taking any course with her as your tutor.
The course has been so well put together, that I had really enjoyed learning. It’s actually very practical. In each lesson, you learn new things, and in the end you always have a task that you need to complete and receive feedback. I managed to put everything I learned into practice with easy access to Ooona’s online amazing toolkit. The written exam consists of a project with easy-to-follow steps, and you’ll need to put into practice everything you learned during the course.
Good luck and a great choice to those who choose to enroll in the CC/SDH course!

I really enjoyed this course, rigorous, but a good informative curriculum. I really liked working on the shorter videos more, but the big exam at the end really showed my skills as I utilized most of the remembered steps throughout this course. Passed with an 8/10!

The only downside are the video files. I don’t think it was my laptop considering I have a Windows 10, but the video files aren’t the best on my end. You’re going to be asked to caption video clips and that was the hardest part for me. The playback was a mess, video very glitchy, and jumping around to different time stamps were hell. The audio was the only part that worked for me, but it didn’t make much of a difference since the audio was rarely aligned with the video.

But, on the flip side, if you persevere, you feel extremely relieved when you’ve completed the task. The communication with Kelly, the course director is phenomenal. She answers emails in a good time length and her responses/feedback are always thoroughly detailed. The responses can take longer depending on where you live. I’m in Cali, so her emails would normally reach me at 3-5am.

Overall, I learned so much about being a captioner/subtiltler and I couldn’t ask for a better course for a rookie like myself.

Does, it cost 345.65 USD? Yes. But, for 37 informative courses, an exam at the end, and great communication and mentoring, I think it’s a great opportunity, especially if you’re willing to put in the time and effort!

The course is perfectly created to learn all the technical and practical aspects you need to know. And what’s more, the contents and tasks of the course are fun and that makes a real difference! It’s an enjoyable experience.

This is a great course for anyone interested in the subtitling/film industry. I was looking for something new, fun, unique and at the same time challanging and I am so happy to have found all of this in Kelly’s CC/SDH course. Not only did I learn about the technical aspects of subtitling but I also developped a great deal of passion for it.
Furthermore, the course is so well structured and combined with rapid corrections/feedback that it allows students to complete it on their own at their own pace.
I can only recommend this course and I personally look forward to getting started with new projects at GOSUB.
